Liquid crystal thermometers produce a direct digital readout that can be placed in the inspirator limb of the patient circuit. They have a Celsius scale of 20° to 42° with a convenient Fahrenheit conversion table alongside. Temperature is determined by using the three-color
readout bands. Green means temperature is exact, tan means it is slightly higher, and blue means it is slightly lower.
